Promptmanship: process, concepts, activities and patterns

Drawing from establisehd software engineering concepts and methods, we propose an AI chain methodology that includes a rapid protyping process model that aligns with AI 2.0 and Software 3.0 paradigms, AI chain core concepts, as well as a set of AI chain activities (task modeling, system design activities, AI chain implementation (including prompt design patterns), and AI chain testing. Leveraging the knowledge and conversational abilities of large language models, we introduce the magic-enhancing-magic co-pilot activity, which can be performed at all phases of AI chain development to enhance the efficiency and quality of other activities. Our Sapper IDE provides native support for this methodology.
